Associate Professor. Dr. Wanna Choorit

Value Added Products from Palm Oil Factory

Associated Prof. Wanna Choorit received doctoral degree in Applied Microbiology from Tohoku University, Japan in 1995 under the support from Monbukagakusho (Japanase Government Scholarship). She has been worked at Biotechnology Program, Walailak University since 1998.  She emphasizes the research on using of microorganism as a tool for conversion agro-industrial waste to value added products. Recently, research on biofuel production from palm oil mill effluent and oil palm empty fruit bunch fibers has been focused. In 2014 she was awarded the Best Researcher from Walailak University, Thailand. She received the research grants from nation agency, private sector and matching fund between nation and private sector. She contributes her knowledge in peer-review international journal, in national and international conferences. She has served as the reviewer for a number of journals as well as research proposals submitted to several granting agencies. She acts as a consultant for private sector that is interested in making of value added products from agro-industrial product residues.

Behavior of nutrient uptake and fruit growth of pummelo

Dr. Somsak Maneepong acquired D.Agr. in agricultural chemistry from Kyushu University,  Japan. He has a long experience on agricultural material analysis. Currently, he is conducting researches and lecture on soil chemistry and plant nutrition. Dr. Somsak has conducted a research on nutrient management of pummelo for longer than 10 years. A book and several papers including conference proceeding concerning on pummelo nutrition had been published. Dr. Somsak has also conducted researches on soilless culture and aquaponics for several years. Various cultivation techniques, nutrient formulation and substrate formulation had been developed.

 

Assistant Professor Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee

Marine and coastal resources management technology Program, School of engineering and resources management, Walailak University

Restoration of the european flat oyster ostrea edulis using elevated broodstock reefs

Assist. Prof. Dr.  Amonsak Sawusdee was trained in marine and coastal resources management technology from School of Engineering and resources management, Walailak University in his Bachelor degree. He was then studies in fishery management at faculty of fisheries, Kasetsart University in his master levels before he received doctoral degree in Ocean and Earth science from Southampton University (National Oceanography Centre), UK in 2015 under the support from Royal Thai Government scholarship. In 2015, he was awarded the Best PhD student in the UK “Annual Award for Academic Excellence (Environment)” from Ago-Thai Society and Royal Thai Embassy. He emphasizes the research on fishery science, biology and restoration. Currently, he is doing research on restoration of Blue swimming crabs in the Gulf of Thailand: case study in Bandon Bay. Moreover, he also contributes his knowledge as a reviewer for a numbers of peer-review national and international journals. Amonsak is now assistance professor of fisheries biology at Marine and coastal resources management technology Program, school of engineering and resources management, Walailak University, where he is engaged in research and teaching in coastal fishery biology and restoration.

 

Dr. Pacharathon Simking

Application of GIS on Livestock landscape and disease distribution mapping

Dr. Pacharathon Simking graduated from Bachelor degree in Doctoral of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) and M.S. in Veterinary Parasitology.  She has received the Doctoral degree in agricultural Biotechnology from Center for Agricultural Biotechnology, Kasetsart University Kampangsean campus since 2015. Recently, she responses as the lecturer in Division of Animal Health Science, Faculty of Agricultural Biotechnology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. Nanotechnology in Food Industries: Opportunities and Challenges

Dr.Anil Kumar Anal is Head of Department of Food Agriculture and Bioresources and Associate Professor in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technologyat the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. His background expertise is in the Food and Nutrition Security, Food Safety, food processing and preservation, valorization as well as bioprocessing of herbs, natural resources including Traditional and Fermented Foods, microorganisms, Agro-industrial waste to fork and value addition including its application in various food, feed, neutraceuticals, cosmetics and pharmaceutics. His research interests also include the formulation and delivery of cells and bioactive for human and veterinary applications, controlled release technologies, particulate systems, application of nanotechnology in food, agriculture and pharmaceutics; functional foods and food safety. Dr. Anil has authored 5 patents (US, World Patents, EU, Canadian and Indian); more than 90 referred international journal articles, 15 book chapters, 3 edited books and several in International conference proceedings. He has been invited as Keynote Speakers and Experts in various Food, Biotechnology, Agro-Industrial Processing and Veterinary as well as Life Sciences based conferences and workshops organized by national, regional and international agencies. Dr. Anil has been serving as Advisory members, Associate Editor, Members of Editorial Board of various Regional and International peer-reviewed Journal publications.  Dr. Anil has experiences of conducting various innovative research and product developments funded by various donor agencies including European Union, FAO, Ministry of Environment, Japan and various food and biotech industries. Dr. Anil received his PhD in Bioprocess Technology from the AIT and held previous academic and research positions in industries and academia including Otago University and Massey University, New Zealand
